I believe it's time to move on and join the CPA program. It will be a little more difficult than the SLP, but the CPA focuses on accounting and in the end we are accountants. Most of the jobs I've seen are asking for IFRS and ASPE experience that the SLP does not provide and two years is a long time without focusing on accounting. I have a BE in all the sections except for report formatting, but my ratios and their qualitative interpretation (trends, implication) was complete and I got a BE in ratios too which cannot be correct. I probably deserved to fail because I concentrated on finishing the case but missed quant for icelandic alternative, which is a big no no and didn't do implementation plan for minor issues. Anyway, I think everything has to be attempted to pass the exam. And I focused on completing the case (i.e. covering all sections - exec summary, implementation plan, action plan, et al) , while providing a tie-back to all SWOT points I had made earlier. I got a 64%, and I believe they were quite right at marking me at that level. I used past papers dating back to 2004 onwards to practice and review. I understood how quants presentation changed over the years. I have all those papers with solution so read CMA's comments and their expectation. This helped me prepare myself to approach differently. I did not practice any of the cases which we did in IS. Let me know if you would like to have them. I can email them to you. I made only 64 but am glad that its over. And I did complete the whole case. Key thing do not overdo any area. Thats how you manage your time. Dont give up, you are almost there.
